 About Me

IMG_2039.jpg
Beth Jarrell- Librarian, Journalist, Information Professional

I have experienced two separate yet highly related careers during my working life. Working as a journalist and freelance editor since 2012 in print, online multimedia, and radio, was one of them. Journalism may appear to be different from librarianship, but both are professions that concern themselves with the distribution of reliable, accurate information.

Connecting people with information has always been my passion, whether that means traveling all over Canada to get the story, announcing news on the radio, or connecting people with resources.

Throughout my life, I have always been the 'go-to' information expert in the jobs I have worked. Information literacy is more than just a passion for me- it's a way of life. Helping people distill good information from bad, learn search strategies on their favorite search engines, and ask & develop research questions are practices I carry with me every day.
